Like so many of you, we have spent the last several days and weeks learning about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it is impacting our world. 
At Milk Diva, the safety of our patients, families and providers is our utmost concern. We are closely monitoring the current situation and are following guidance from public health officials and government agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Milk Diva has always prided itself on being a leader in the Women's Health community. We take extra steps and precautions to ensure practice cleanliness and safety, and we are instituting additional measures at this time. 

For everyone’s safety, we ask all patients who are not feeling or who's family is not feeling well to reschedule their appointment for a later date. This includes anyone with symptoms of fever, chills, cough, and shortness of breath.

ILLNESS POLICY (Updated March 13, 2020)

In light of recent events, we have updated our cancellation policy for illness. We want all of us to be safe. In addition to continuing to practice good hygiene when we are in your home, we are adding the following safety measures to our home visit prep list:

  • We will be washing our hands often during the consultation. At a minimum this includes at the star of the visit, after using the bathroom and after changing a diaper.  In addition hand sanitizer will be used frequently in between hand-washing. Please have liquid soap (dish soap is fine) and paper towels available in your kitchen and/or bathroom.

    • ​If electronic devices are used, screens and keyboards must be cleaned at the start of every visit.

  • Latex-free gloves will be utilized when examining infants mouth.

  • We will need a clean swaddle blanket to put on our scale. Please have spray cleaner and paper towel available for us to clean our scale when we take it out of the bag and when we put it away.

  • We prefer not to conduct the visit in your bedroom. We will teach you how to adapt any position we show you , so you can do it in your bed.

  • Please let us know in a timely manner (12 hours prior to appointment time), if you or anyone in your family is symptomatic for any illness.

  • If you or anyone in your home is sick with the flu, fever, vomiting, or diarrhea or upper respiratory congestion resulting in moderate to severe coughing, or nasal drainage when we arrive at your home, the visit will be canceled and your credit card will be charged a $75 fee.

  • If you or anyone in your home has symptoms of illness, please disclose them to us at your earliest convenience so we can create a plan to keep us all safe and illness-free. No cancellation fee will be charged if you communicate illness in a timely manner and we choose to cancel or reschedule.

  • In case of our own illness or family emergency, we will communicate with you in a timely manner and will make every effort to reschedule you or refer you to another IBCLC, and no cancellation fee will be charged to you.  Milk Diva Consultants are required to stay current with her flu,& TDAP vaccines.


Each Milk Diva patient must answer and sign the COVID Screening questionnaire available as part of your intake paperwork.  If a potential Milk Diva patient has been recently exposed to or tested positive for COVID-19, then the Lactation Consultant will immediately cancel the appointment and rescheduled in accordance with Milk Diva’s policies and procedures.


Should the Lactation Consultant be exposed to or test positive for COVID-19, the Lactation Consultant will immediately cancel any upcoming consultations and reschedule said consultations in accordance with Milk Diva’s policies and procedures. The Lactation Consultant will not be permitted to accept future Milk Diva consultations until the Lactation Consultant is no longer contagious as provided by the Centers for Disease Control’s return to work strategy for healthcare workers available at:
