My Vision for Milk Diva

In Pursuit of Passion and Purpose

After having children, I took off a few years from work to focus solely on being a wife and a mother. It was during this time period that I experienced a period of vulnerability like never before.  I wish there would have been more accessible education and resources to prepare me for the biggest challenge of my life. I learned about and met many other mothers who were in the same boat as me. This experience gave me the motivation needed to go after my passion and purpose, which led to me pursuing an education in nursing.

I became a Registered Nurse (RNC) with a specialty certification in Obstetrics and an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant).  I have over 5 years of Perinatal Nursing experience that includes High Risk Antepartum, Labor & Delivery and Postpartum couplet care.  I am BLS, ACLS certified (Basic & Advanced Cardiac Life Support ) and NRP certified (Neonatal Resuscitation Program maintained by American Academy of Pediatrics).

My perspective as a Perinatal Nurse has shown me how ill-prepared families are for breastfeeding. Many people try to ‘wing it,’ only to be overwhelmed by frustration, sadness and self-doubt, then resorting to the high use of formula, which can all be prevented with proper education and support.

I want to work with pregnant women and mothers who see the value in educating and preparing themselves for one of the biggest changes of their lives.  I want to work with mothers who have a strong desire to learn from a trained, licensed and certified professional. I am ready to provide breastfeeding support and help mothers achieve success.

Wife & Mother

My process of becoming a mom wasn’t easy. Neither of my children came into this world without complication. It was this experience that fueled my desire to do something more for mothers.
